Allan Knost
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our father Allan Tate Knost, age 68, on January 8th, 2025.
A devoted father, cherished friend, and passionate fisherman, Allan left us unexpectedly, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and adventure. Born on November 16th, 1956 in Wichita, Kansas, Allan was a man of deep kindness and unwavering dedication to his family.
He was a proud and loving father to his five children: Scott Knost, Christie Martin, Angelina Stephens, Melissa Labs, and Eric Cranmer, who will forever carry his wisdom, humor, and strength in their hearts. Whether casting a line on a quiet morning or sharing stories while drinking a beer, Allan found joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially the peace and excitement of fishing—his lifelong passion.
His love for the water was only matched by his love for his family. He found happiness in watching his children and grandchildren learn the art of patience and perseverance, both fishing and life.
To those who knew him, Allan was more than just a father, brother, or friend—he was a guiding light, a storyteller, and a steady presence in times of need.
Allan is preceded in death by his parents John and Juanita "Jean" Knost and his soulmate Nora Bradley.
Allan is survived by his children, nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren, his sister Kathleen Soupene, ex spouses Linda Jones and Claudette Kerr, and many dear family and friends. Though his time with us was far too short, the memories he created and the love he shared will remain forever.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity or shelter of your choice in his name, or that a line be cast in his honor at your favorite fishing spot.
Rest Easy, Dad. May the waters always be calm, the fish always be biting, and your spirit forever live on with those who love you.
